Ms Megumi Takei

Megumi is the mother of a son with TSC. She has been active in the Japanese Society of Tuberous Sclerosis Complex, a unique academic organisation whose membership includes clinicians, researchers, patients, and their families, since its start in 2012. She heads the society’s Family Network Committee, which organises programs to support patients and families and helps bring them together and serves as a link between families and TSC specialists. The committee organises a session at the society’s annual TSC conference to throw light on issues facing families, and in 2018 it planned a series of talks for families during the International Tuberous Sclerosis Complex Research Conference in Tokyo, which was sponsored by the society.
