Lucas Gutiérrez Lafrentz is an adult psychiatrist and psychotherapist from Chile with extensive experience in clinical mental health care. He has worked in both hospital and community-based settings, providing care for individuals with a wide range of psychiatric conditions. His expertise includes neuropsychiatric disorders, clinical ethics, and the management of complex mental health challenges.

As a PhD researcher at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) and the University of Antwerp, he is part of the TANDem-2 research team, focusing on the ethical challenges in the treatment and care of individuals with Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC) and its neuropsychiatric manifestations (TAND). His research aims to explore the lived experiences of individuals with TAND, their caregivers, and healthcare professionals to improve care strategies and ethical decision-making in clinical practice.

With a strong foundation in both clinical work and research, he is committed to bridging the gap between mental health care and ethical considerations, ensuring that individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders receive comprehensive and compassionate care.
